Lake Nakuru: A Pink Paradise

Lake Nakuru: A Pink Paradise

2 Days
Kenya
Max 6 Guests

Overview

Lake Nakuru is one of those places that gets under your skin fast. The alkaline water turns the shoreline shocking pink with flamingos. White and black rhinos roam the grasslands nearby. And from Baboon Cliff, the whole Rift Valley opens up below you. Two days here is not a long time, but it's enough to leave a mark.

Experience Highlights

Flamingo Spectacle

When conditions are right, thousands of lesser and greater flamingos gather at the water's edge, turning the shoreline a vivid, almost unreal shade of pink.

Rhino Sanctuary

Nakuru is one of Kenya's best rhino sanctuaries. Both black and white rhinos roam freely here, and if you're patient, you'll find them. Our guides know the spots.

Baboon Cliff Views

Stand at Baboon Cliff and the entire lake spreads out below you, ringed by yellow-barked acacias and the steep walls of the Rift Valley. It's genuinely breathtaking.

Rift Valley Landscapes

The drive down into the Rift Valley is dramatic on its own, steep escarpments, volcanic geology, and landscapes that feel like they haven't changed in a thousand years.

Rift Valley Descent, Rhino Tracking & Baboon Cliff

Travel Day

We descend into the Rift Valley with stops at scenic viewpoints along the escarpment. Once inside Lake Nakuru National Park, yellow-barked acacias shade the path to the lake's edge. The afternoon is spent tracking rhinos through the sanctuary and watching the flamingos do their thing. We cap the day at Baboon Cliff with sweeping views of the lake far below.

Lake Naivasha Boat Safari & Crescent Island Walk

Adventure

After an early game drive through the park, we drive to the freshwater Lake Naivasha for a boat safari among hippos and fish eagles. We then disembark on Crescent Island for a walking safari, no fences, no vehicles, just you and the giraffes, zebras, and waterbucks around you. A quiet, genuinely magical way to end the trip before the drive back to Nairobi.
